GHOST Carrier Kit. Any platform becomes a carrier.

Series ready

The GHOST Carrier Kit turns an existing aircraft, ground vehicle or vessel into a carrier for compact unmanned systems. It consists of the mission computer, the suspension and release mechanism, the wiring and the pylon or rack interface, all on an open architecture. BMDS integrates it on several carrier platforms today and adds new ones on request.

GHOST CARRIER KIT, Carrier integration kit

Key facts

Open interface, platform agnostic
Carriers: air, land, water
Designed for several carrier classes

*Subject to change.

Role in the GHOST family

The Carrier Kit is what makes the rest of the family reach further than its own endurance. A compact system does not need to fly the whole distance, it needs to arrive. The kit puts it under a platform that is already in service, and the same ground station that runs the carrier runs what it releases.

Standards and interfaces

Open architecture with a published interface description, so a platform can be integrated without opening the carrier manufacturer's own systems. Designed to NATO STANAG 4586. Commanded through the GHOST GCS and GHOST CORE.

Questions

Which platforms can carry GHOST systems?

Unmanned fixed wing and rotary aircraft, ground vehicles and surface vessels. BMDS integrates the GHOST Carrier Kit on several carrier platforms today and adds further platforms on request, because the interface is open rather than tied to one airframe.

Does the carrier have to be a BMDS platform?

No. That is the point of the Carrier Kit. It is built for platforms that are already in service, so an operator keeps the aircraft, the vehicle or the boat and gains the ability to carry and release compact unmanned systems.

Does it matter what the released system carries?

No. The interface is the same whether the released system carries a sensor, a communications relay or an effector. The payload decides the mission, the carrier does not.
