GHOST USV-100. A small boat that carries the air layer.
Development programmeThe GHOST USV-100 is a 4.2 metre composite unmanned surface vessel designed as a sensor node and as a carrier for compact unmanned aircraft launched from its deck. It runs a hybrid waterjet drive and carries radar, EO/IR and SATCOM. It sits deliberately below the large combat USV class in size and cost.

Role in the GHOST family
The USV-100 is deliberately small. It is not a fast attack craft, it is a sensor that stays at sea and a deck that launches aircraft. A boat of this size can be bought in numbers, and numbers are what coastal surveillance actually needs.
Standards and interfaces
Commanded through the GHOST GCS. Deck launch and recovery of compact GHOST aircraft. Radar, EO/IR and SATCOM on board, hybrid propulsion for long station keeping.
Questions
What is the GHOST USV-100 for?
Coastal and harbour surveillance, escort and the protection of maritime infrastructure. It stays on station, watches with radar and EO/IR and launches a compact aircraft from its deck when something needs a closer look.
Can the USV-100 launch drones?
Yes. The deck takes compact GHOST aircraft, so the boat brings the air layer with it instead of waiting for it to arrive from shore.
Why a 4.2 metre boat and not a larger one?
Because the task is coverage, not speed. A small hull costs a fraction of a large combat USV, and a coastline is protected by many sensors rather than by one fast boat.
